The Dick and Bush Show Continues [Apr. 21st, 2006|03:51 pm]
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The CIA had evidence Iraq possessed no weapons of mass destruction six months before the 2003 U.S.-led invasion but was ignored by a White House intent on ousting Saddam Hussein, a former senior CIA official said according to CBS.

Tyler Drumheller, who headed CIA covert operations in Europe during the run-up to the Iraq war, said intelligence opposing administration claims of a WMD threat came from a top Iraqi official who provided the U.S. spy agency with other credible information.

The source "told us that there were no active weapons of mass destruction programs," Drumheller said in a CBS interview to be aired on Sunday on the network's news magazine, "60 Minutes."

"The (White House) group that was dealing with preparation for the Iraq war came back and said they were no longer interested," he was quoted as saying in interview excerpts released by CBS on Friday.

"We said: 'Well, what about the intel?' And they said: 'Well, this isn't about intel anymore. This is about regime change'," added Drumheller, whose CIA operation was assigned the task of debriefing the Iraqi official.

He was the latest former U.S. official to accuse the White House of setting an early course toward war in Iraq and ignoring intelligence that conflicted with its aim.

More evidence of lies, lies, lies, but still nothing. Remember the message here is the beginning of this administration belief, "US law, it just doesn't matter."

Is this what happens when a president begins his career being appointed by the judiciary instead of elected?

Whine whine whine [Mar. 9th, 2006|08:17 pm]
[mood |awake]
[music |Fire Water Burn (Donkey Mix)]

Corrupt, adj.: In politics, holding an office of trust or profit.

Democracy is a government where you can say what you think even if you don't think.

To paraphrase Samuel Johnson, Bush is dull, naturally dull; but it must have taken him a great deal of pains to become what we now see, such an excess of stupidity is not in Nature.

The DC Law: If the facts don't conform to the theory, they must be disposed of.
Corollary one: The bigger the theory, the better.
Corollary two: The experiment may be considered a sucess if no more than 50% of the observed data must be discarded to obtain a correspondence with the theory.

'Brokeback' 'Crash'es at the Oscars; money to follow. [Mar. 7th, 2006|10:56 am]
[mood |bitchybitchy]
[music |Bloodhound Gang]

I've been reading all the blather about how Crash beat Brokeback cause Hollywood and the USA is still homophobic.

My first answer is 'duh', how stupid do you have to be? It's taken how long for the US to realize that it's still racist, and sexist. You think it's gonna stop being homophobic in the short period of time that sexual preference has been in 'open' conversation. Fools.

My second answer is do you really believe that the Oscars are about merit or popularity??? Look who the members of the Academy are, the film industry. The Oscars are about advertising. Brokeback got it's share by being nominated and declared the favorite. Now Crash will get it's share by winning. And conversely Brokeback will get more by losing. See it's a win win situation, no matter what more money is earned. And that, ladies and gents, is what the Oscars are all about.

Foodstamps [Mar. 1st, 2006|06:58 am]
[mood |satisfiedsatisfied]
[music |Internal soundtrak: Starwars Emperors March]

I've figured out one of the problems with the foodstamp and general assistance programs in CA. It's not focused on the problem it's trying to solve. For example, "Question 19. Is anyone on strike? Yes. No. If "Yes", complete below: Name of Striker, Name and Address of Employer/Training Program, name of Union, Date on Strike etc..."

I'm sure there are many individuals on strike in CA.  What do they have to do with my application, and why do I have to report on them?  Is this more of that Homeland Security stuff?

How about "Question 20. Has anyone, including children, worked or does anyone expect to go to work, including part-time and occasional work? If Yes complete below:"

If it were me, I'd rewrite the question, "If the US economy has not  gone tit's up, answer the questions below:"

And "Question 22. Does anyone pay child or spousal support?"

I thought this was CA? Didn't child and spousal support get invented here?

Here is a question that is a slap in the face to all those serving in Iraq.  "Question 27. Has anyone been in the U.S. military service or the spouse, parent, or child of a person who has been in the military service? If yes complete below: Name, US Citizen, Status, Honorable Discharge etc..."

I certainly hope the answers I give are not used by the armed services to generate roll-call.

Perhaps if the people in charge of creating these forms took the CA high-school exit exams, they'd be readable.

The ignorant and privileged [Feb. 1st, 2006|08:56 am]
[mood |pissed offpissed off]

Time for a rant.
I envy the general public who never knows mental illness. They can say awww he's sad, Hey!, he's happy. To a bi-polar, manic-depressive, person with melancholia, how ever you want to label it. That doesn't quite cover it, never will, and unless you've been there you'll never, never quite get it.
I started my struggle in 1996. The doctors told my Mom there was a 10% chance for me to live outside of an institution. Well, it's 2006, and I'm just now starting the fight for SSI/SSDI. Not a bad 10% shot.
In four other states that I've lived in, besides CA, I actually received mental health care. I could see a shrink, and a social worker or therapist, at least once a month for an hour, and in most states the therapist was available weekly. Here in CA, you get to see a shrink every 6 to 8 weeks for 15 min. Nine times a year for just over a total of two hours. And this is treatment for a major mental illness.
That's my thoughts. Don't like it? Go impede a goats rectal functioning.

Porky Pig!

You scored 42 Aggression, 57 Sophistication, and 42 Optimism!

Non-aggressive, possibly shy, dapper, well-mannered, and likely far too
hard on yourself, you are the prototypical conscientious friend who too
often gets taken advantage of. Generally you don’t like to make a fuss
and are more or less adverse to risk-taking. There are those out there
who make entire careers out of manipulating people like you, and you
should be very weary of them. Regardless, try taking a few risks and
definitely stick up for yourself more. Maybe quit your safe but boring
job, or ask that special person out. You are someone of high moral
character and probably deserve far more out of life than you are
settling with.

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

Die old woman Die! [Jan. 25th, 2006|10:01 am]
[mood |sicksick]

So in the early 90's this woman finds out she has aids.  Sells her life/health insurance for less than it's worth to a company who promises to keep it paid until she dies (hopefully soon so they can make more money).

The punch-line...she won't die.

[music |Seelenkrank - Sweet submission (-=- MPEGRadio.Com -=- tormented radio / djdead)]

You scored as Simon Tam. The Doctor. You have a gift for healing that goes beyond education. You took an oath to do no harm, even when your patients have tried to kill you. You are out of place where you are, being used to refined society. However, if you take that stick out of your arse you should be fine.
